Again, I wouldn't really know if it makes any difference, just looking for similarities. When I hit "test" and manually select "nv" driver, it really works in test. Without blacklisting nv, I would get this: Avery Day your last solution worked for me. Run a search gecorce apt or synaptic to make sure you have all of the Beryl packages required. At least stopping gdm and running nvidia binary installer works every now and then.
